Brighton is one of the UK’s most vibrant, diverse and fashionable cities. It attracts eight million visitors spending £700 million a year. D2 was approached by Redevco, following their acquisition of the iconic Hanningtons Estate, historically the most important retail destination in Brighton, to provide a conceptual website and advanced digital marketing solution that would reach and connect with target brands to support the leasing strategy; and support their commitment to include local stakeholders to be a part of this significant transformation story.

Considered as the “Harrods” of Brighton, Hanningtons Estate has significant equity with the local community yet needed a new voice to attract the cool Shoreditch-esque brands of London. Through curated fashion imagery and a accurate representation of the population of Brighton, Hanningtons Estate communicates its energetic and fresh new brand values across digital.

D2 designed a conceptual presentation website to inform the target audience both when presented in person or as an individual journey of discovery. Its modern and vibrant design, with attractive imagery and bleeding-edge user-experience, won the CSS Design Awards highly coveted Website Of the Day award. Scrolling horizontally, the website describes the exciting new development and local area information, supported by a dedicated blog website built as a platform to share interviews with local retailers and bloggers, updates on the development and much more.

With over 50 clients in retail business, at D2 we know the importance of great design and how to ensure it works hand-in-hand with digital marketing. To inject pace and energy we created a mash-up film of still photography as an intro to the Website and to share across the social media accounts of Hanningtons Estate. The film represents everything Brighton – from its dynamism and diversity to cultural and fashionable aura.

Fashion and style is in the core of Hanningtons Estate. Through a considered and supported Instagram and Twitter presence, D2 actively communicate with their targeted young and trendy audience as well as creating awareness of Hanningtons’ history via showcasing archived photography from its heyday. Working together with the Porterfield PR team, D2’s social media marketing strategy allows Hanningtons Estate to reach potential retailers and the local community, considered essential to identifying and securing leasing opportunities. The development is due for completion Spring 2018.
